What are intensives?
Therapy intensives offer a focused, personalized approach to healing and personal growth. Unlike traditional weekly therapy sessions, intensives provide extended blocks of therapeutic time, allowing individuals to address challenges more deeply and make meaningful progress in a shorter period.
Therapy intensives are ideal for those with busy schedules, individuals seeking accelerated progress, or anyone looking for a more immersive therapeutic experience. Each intensive is customized to ensure that clients receive the support, guidance, and tools needed to move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and hope.
The goal of an intensive is not simply symptom reduction, but helping individuals develop lasting tools, increased resilience, and greater freedom to engage fully in the life they want to live. Through focused therapeutic work, many clients experience meaningful progress in a shorter period of time than is often possible through traditional weekly sessions alone.

What Does a Therapy Intensive Look Like?
Every therapy intensive is customized to meet the unique needs and goals of the individual. While the structure may vary, most intensives follow a comprehensive format designed to maximize progress and provide meaningful, lasting results.
1. Pre-Intensive Assessment
Before the intensive begins, clients complete an initial consultation and assessment process. This helps identify treatment goals, current challenges, personal history, and areas of focus. Together, a plan is developed to ensure the intensive is tailored to the client's specific needs.
2. Extended Therapy Sessions
The intensive itself consists of several hours of focused therapeutic work, which may be completed in a single day or spread over multiple days. The extended format allows for deeper exploration of issues without the time limitations of traditional weekly sessions.
3. Targeted Treatment Interventions
Evidence-based therapeutic approaches are integrated throughout the intensive. Depending on the client's needs, treatment may include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety
Trauma-informed interventions
Mindfulness and stress reduction techniques
Emotional processing and insight-oriented work
Skills training for emotional regulation and coping
4. Practical Skill Development
Clients learn and practice strategies they can immediately apply in their daily lives. The intensive format provides opportunities to work through challenges in real time, receive feedback, and build confidence in using new skills.
5. Personalized Action Plan
At the conclusion of the intensive, clients receive recommendations and a personalized plan for maintaining progress. This may include ongoing therapy, self-care practices, specific exercises, or other resources to support continued growth and healing.
Common Intensive Formats
